Almantas Grikevičius (1935–2011) graduated from the Moscow Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in 1967. His directorial debut was a documentary Tales of the Sun. In 1966 he directed Time Walks through the City, an unusual film structurally and stylistically. In 1968 collaborated with Algirdas Dausa on his first feature film Feelings, one of the best Lithuanian films. Later in his career he wrote scripts for several features and TV series. In 2009 Almantas Grikevičius was awarded with National Culture and Art award.
