Call for entries to SCANORAMA’S short film competition “New Baltic Cinema" is now open
European film forum ‘Scanorama’ invites filmmakers from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to present their films in the short film competition programme ‘New Baltic Cinema’ for the eight time. The constantly expanding competition is attracting more and more attention of the audience and, as the tradition goes, the Best Baltic short film will be announced in November.
Short film competition programme ‘New Baltic Cinema’ aims not only at discovering, but also encouraging the best and most promising talents from Baltic region. The competition winner will be selected by a competent international jury and awarded with a prize – filmmaking equipment hire worth of 10 000 euros. The prize is presented by ‘Vilnius Film Cluster’. The competition also recognises the Best Lithuanian short director – he/she is awarded with 3000 euros, the prize presented by audio-visual authors and producers rights association ‘AVAKA’. The winners are announced at ‘Scanorama’ closing ceremony in November.
Application for ‘New Baltic Cinema’ competition programme is open until 20 August 2016. In order to be eligible, the piece has to be previously unscreened, produced no earlier than 1 January 2016 and no longer than 35 minutes.
