Fortuna, a 14-year old Ethiopian girl who is temporarily accommodated in Switzerland with other refugees in a hospice at an altitude of 2000 metres above sea level. This is where she meets a 26-year old Kabir, whom she falls hopelessly in love. Their relationship develops, hidden from sight of those around them, until the day when Kabir mysteriously disappears following a police raid.

Germinal Roaux

Germinal Roaux is a self-taught photographer and filmmaker. As a photo journalist he has been contributing to various magazines since 1996. His debut feature "Left Foot Right Foot" (2013) won numerous prizes including the Swiss Film Award in three categories. "Fortuna" is his sophomore feature.
