Marko is in his early thirties. He is looking forward to a relatively quiet weekend in the small town where his parents live. But there’s news: Gitte, who has been bipolar since Marko’s childhood, announces that she has decided to do away with her medication and is now looking forward to sharing the rest of her life with her husband. Gitte’s unexpected recovery thwarts Günter’s own plans. Marko’s younger brother Jakob and his partner Ella also find themselves at a crossroads.

Hans-Christian Schmid

Hans-Christian Schmid was born in 1965 and lives in Berlin today. Following his studies at film school in Munich, he graduated in scriptwriting from USC in Los Angeles. In 2004, he founded the production company 23/5. Schmid’s films have all been invited to various national and international festivals and have received several awards.
