Pierre and Manon make low-budget documentaries and live off odd jobs. When Pierre meets a young trainee, Elisabeth, she becomes his mistress. But Pierre doesn’t want to leave Manon - he wants to keep both women. Elisabeth discovers that Manon has a lover, and tells Pierre. Pierre returns to Manon, the woman he truly loves. Feeling betrayed, he begs her, neglecting Elisabeth…

Philippe Garrel

Philippe Garrel was born in 1948 in Paris, France. Began his film career early, directing and writing his first films while still a teenager. Influenced by Jean-Luc Godard and the Velvet Underground, he directed La Cicatrice intérieure (1971). In 1991, he won a Silver Lion for his film J’entends Plus la Guitare. Night Wind was nominated for a Golden Lion in 1999. Two years later, Wild Innocence was nominated for a Golden Lion and won the FIPRESCI Prize. His 2005 film, Regular Lovers, won the Silver Lion for Best Director. He has directed more than 25 films.
