Ali suddenly finds himself in charge of Sam, his 5 years old son that he barely knows. Penniless and without friends, he leaves the north of France to seek shelter at his sister’s in Antibes. Even though she and her husband do not have much money, they make a room for them in their garage and take care of Sam. Ali’s bond with Stephanie, a killer whale trainer, grows deeper after Stephanie suffers a horrible accident.

Jacques Audiard

Jacques Audiard was born in Paris, in 1952. He studied literature and philosophy at the Sorbonne. In the eighties he wrote the screenplays of several successful thrillers. In 1994, he made his first feature See How They Fall, which won three Cesars of the French academy. His second movie A Self-Made Hero premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1996 where it won the award for best screenplay and made his name internationally. In 2005, his film A Prophet won 9 Cesars.
