Soundbreaker is a film odyssey that follows some of the sonic adventures of one of the world’s most exciting and fearless artists – Finland’s Kimmo Pohjonen. An accordionist of exceptional ability and imagination. Kimmo’s musical history goes back more than twenty years in rock, folk, avant-garde, improvisation, classical, dance and theatre music projects. In the film we are able to dive into the soul of an accordion and its player by following the artist’s projects closely with him.

Kimmo Koskela

Kimmo Koskela (born 1960), has operated in cinema, photography, video and media art since the early 1980s. He has worked with many celebrated Finnish visual art pioneers, such as Eija-Liisa Ahtila and Arno Minkkinen. As one of the leading foundation builders of contemporary Finnish video and media art, Koskela has also been instrumental in advancing media technology applications to stage productions.
